Hallllllllloweeeeeeeeeeeeennnnn!! ...and stuff. YAY!!
Now then.. I'm pagan.. so I somewhat celebrate samhain..
but Halloween as an nice lil' american holiday.. I feel the need to celebrate both...
Moving on. What's everyone doing for Halloween? Passing out candy to the little brats that come knocking? Wild parties?
I myself, am currently in Akron, OH. and I guess the kids usually trick-or-treat on the weekend before Halloween so they don't have to be out late on the school nights or whatever.. So.. I'm going trick or treating.. because I want some free candy, dangit! As for Halloween night.. I don't know what we're doing yet.
Before then.. we'll be going to haunted houses and such to get so scared we might pee pee ourselves.
So what's everyone else doing?

I'm planning on dressing up as a pirate and handing out First Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster flyers while I trick or treat. Since I'm a plundering pirate after booty, I'll take two pieces of candy instead of one.
Arrrrr! :pirate:

Well, I'm doing a few things to celebrate Samhain.
First of all, I decorated My House in the appropriate colors ;).
On the 20th, Budha and I are attending the local Witch's Ball.
On the 28th, I'm co-leader of a ritual at which there may be upwards of 40 people! (It started out as only about a dozen, max. But then a couple more got invited and they invited a couple and then they invited a couple....) The official invites go out today.
Samhain (Hallowe'en) itself may just be a bonfire in the backyard with appropriate warm beverages and a private observance of the High Holiday.

I'm hoping to dress up as Queen Amidala this year. :D We'll see how that works out...
As for passing out candy, I'm not so sure about that. I've been noticing a lot of heavier kids in my neighborhood... and we all know that candy is no good for the teeth nor the belly so... I'm thinking of handing out baby carrots, fat-free salad dressing, and maybe some dental floss.

Why don't you pass out raw eggs with that as well. That way the kids won't have to make a special trip to get some so that they can reward you for your thoughtfullness.

I went trick or treating this Crimboween and got quite a haul. I got 38 candy canes, 20 daffy taffy, 5 dwarf bread, 47 fruitcake, 12 Gummi-Gnauga, 14 sugar cogs and 6 Wint-O-Fresh mints.
If I'd just been a little stronger, I could have worn a couple of other costumes and got some other neat stuff. I really wanted to get some Bit 0' Ectoplasm this year.

I got some fruitcake this crimoween, too, and a variety of those dumb little things. BUT most notably, I have become a meat millionaire! Just goes to show you that I'm quite the entrepreneur when it comes to useless things. AND I tried to show some goodwill, but I noticed that SOMEONE is in hardcore and unable to accept anything... so I guess more for me.

Well, if you can get another couple of million meat you could always buy me a tiny plastic Susie or Boris. :D
