The Philosophical Strangler by Eric Flint I just finished reading this book and highly recommend it. It would fit into the humorous fantasy genre. What really sets it apart though is that while the treatment of the subject, as well as people and places, has a humor that I find engaging; it deals intelligently with the serious subjects of philosophy and religion.
I find that humor allows us to look at serious topics from a different perspective than our own. I know that such an approach has helped me formulate new and different understandings which I doubt I would have found otherwise.
If you don't want to think deeply, then don't worry. This is a great story that really flows. You can take it at face value and won't be disappointed by the characters or action.
Give it a try.
